Member Spotlight: A Mother-Daughter Duo on the Frontlines of Ukrainian Humanitarian Response
NAEMSP recognizes two exceptional members, a mother-daughter duo: EMS Fellow Kasia Hampton, chair and founding member of NAEMSP’s Prehospital Ultrasound Task Force, together with her daughter Livia Van Humbeeck, a medical student at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland—both volunteering on the frontlines of the Ukrainian humanitarian response.
Kasia (pictured left) is going to Eastern Europe to continue her collaborative efforts with local and global organizations such as the World Health Organization, Polish Medical Mission, the Interstate Disaster Medical Collaborative, and the Polish Ministry of Health. Livia (pictured right) provides humanitarian assistance to the refugees in Cracow, and also travels to the Ukrainian side of the border to help the refugees waiting in extremely long lines before crossing into Poland.
