NAEMSP Response to Recent Shootings
August 5, 2019
NAEMSP mourns the victims of the recent shootings in Gilroy, CA; Southaven, MS, El Paso, TX, and Dayton, OH. Our thoughts are with the victims’ families and their communities. NAEMSP is grateful for the medical professionals and first responders who regularly risk their lives to help care for victims of disasters such as these. We encourage first responder self care and peer care; the Code Green Campaign® is a great resource. While it is unfortunate that we must prepare for such tragedies, NAEMSP remains committed to helping EMS physicians provide the best possible out-of-hospital care. For more information on deploying evidence-based lifesaving interventions, see our position statement on mass gathering medical care.
