The Department of Emergency Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ is actively recruiting a full-time academic Emergency Medicine Physician and Assistant EMS Medical Director to join the Division of Prehospital and Disaster Medicine. The Division currently employs three board-certified EMS physicians with the need for more EMS physician coverage. This position includes a faculty appointment to Rutgers New Jersey Medical School with protected time for EMS medical direction services and teaching. Our group provides EMS medical direction to three EMS agencies, including our city-wide system, University Hospital EMS (UHEMS).
UHEMS incorporates ALS, BLS, Rescue, 9-1-1 EMS/Fire Communications, Special Operations, Air Medical, Critical Care Transport and Tactical Medicine services. UHEMS answers over 125,000 requests for service annually within its coverage areas, which include Newark Airport.
