I am excited to announce that NAEMSP has entered into an agreement with Page, Wolfberg & Wirth (PWW) for a broad range of legal services for the Association and its members. As we have grown, and particularly as we have dramatically increased our chapters, the Board recognized a need for legal services from a firm with specific experience in nonprofit organizations and membership association business matters. PWW is a nationally known firm that has this experience.
Our legal counsel will also attend select NAEMSP membership and committee meetings to provide legal guidance to the Association to answer questions and promote compliance in the conduct of its business.
Even more exciting is a new member benefit that is included in this agreement. PWW is a firm of respected EMS leaders with a practice that focuses exclusively on EMS. Their experience will be available directly to all of our members at no cost to answer your legal questions. These services are in effect now and immediately available to our members.
How it Works
Under NAEMSP’s Member Legal Services program, members can submit their medicolegal questions directly to PWW in one of two ways:
1) Through a new NAEMSP legal listserv that members can choose to receive (these messages and responses on this listserv will be visible to other members on the platform. This should be used for general questions when the responses would be of interest to your fellow members.
2) Via email directly to [email protected] (these messages and responses will be between the you and PWW only). This private messaging with PWW should be used for agency specific or individualized questions. This direct email address is a private, dedicated address established by PWW exclusively for the use of NAEMSP members and should not be shared with non-members.
Coordinating the program from PWW will be Doug Wolfberg, Esq., one of Founding Partners of the firm, who will respond to member inquiries with his colleague Steve Wirth, Esq. and other PWW attorneys.
Important Notes
Members should note the following regarding the NAEMSP Member Legal Services Program:
– This program is educational in nature.
– Submission of a question under the program does not constitute entering into an attorney-client relationship with PWW.
– Communications under the program are not subject to the attorney-client privilege.
– Members should not submit any individual patient information, nor any privileged or confidential information of the member or the member’s employer or institution, as part of any queries submitted under the program.
While answering individual member questions, whenever the PWW attorney determines that the member may require individualized legal services, PWW will inform the member that a separate attorney-client engagement may be advised. The member may choose to pursue such engagement through PWW or another law firm. PWW may accept individual representation of a member subject to a separate engagement agreement directly with the member or the member’s institution, agency or employer. As an added member benefit, NAEMSP has arranged for its members to receive discounted rates when receiving individual legal services directly from PWW.
NAEMSP recognizes that its members have a high degree of interest in legal issues and we are pleased to make this program available at no cost as a value-added benefit of your existing membership. Additionally, legal presentations have always been of great interest to our members in our EMS Medical Director Course & Practicum and in the sessions at our annual conference. I am pleased to announce that our 2026 Annual Conference in Tampa will include a 2-hour general session on legal issues covering a variety of topics by several nationally recognized EMS lawyers.
