  • Use of the scoring matrix guides, but does not solely determine, final candidate selection.

  • The slate should consider board balance, diversity, and past election participation.
  • A maximum of three candidates per position will be listed.

Candidate Notification

  • All candidates will be notified within one week of final evaluation.
  • Preferred method is phone or video call; email may be used if contact is not feasible within the timeframe.

Communication of Final Slate

  • Final slate and candidate materials will be shared with membership at election start.

Election Process

  • Conducted via ranked-choice voting for 30 days.
  • Managed by a third-party vendor.
  •  Results reported to the Executive Director and Nominations Chair.

  • If a selected candidate declines, alternate selection will follow ranked results.

This policy promotes transparency and equity in NAEMSP board nominations and supports the selection of diverse and capable leaders.
