We are writing to inform you of an important procedural matter regarding the recent NAEMSP bylaws vote.
Our organization’s bylaws require that votes on bylaws amendments be conducted at an official meeting of the membership, rather than through electronic ballot alone. Because the vote initiated on July 6 was conducted electronically outside of a meeting, we need to redo the vote in accordance with our bylaws.
We recognize this may be an inconvenience, and we want to be transparent about what happened and how we are correcting it. To ensure the vote is conducted properly, we are calling a membership meeting for this purpose.
Meeting Details:
Date: August 28, 2026
Time: 12 PM ET
Location / Format: Zoom (must register to attend, click here to register)
At this meeting, members will have the opportunity to discuss and vote on the proposed bylaws amendment(s) in accordance with our governing documents. The proposed language is on our website for your review in advance. The bylaws in their entirety can be found here.
We appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure this process follows our bylaws correctly. If you have questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out to either of us directly.
FAQ: If I have already voted electronically do I have to attend the meeting to cast another vote?
A: Yes, we are requesting all members attend the meeting to officially vote on the bylaws at the virtual meeting.
Sincerely,
Douglas F. Kupas, MD, NRP, FAEMS
