National Association of EMS Physicians® recognizes National EMS Week with series of educational opportunities

May 3, 2018

Overland Park, Kan. (May 3, 2018) – The National Association of EMS Physicians® (NAEMSP®) will recognize Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week, May 20-26, to highlight the efforts of all first responders who answer the call, inclusive of more than 1,350 members.

EMS Week brings together local communities and medical personnel to promote safety as well as honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services on medicine’s front line. Each day’s activities, ranging from blog posts to podcasts, will align with the designated EMS Week themes, including: education, safety, pediatrics, bystander CPR and Stop the Bleed training.

“NAEMSP® is dedicated to connecting and empowering our network of EMS physicians and professionals, enabling them serve their communities most efficiently and effectively,” said Brent Myers, MD, MPH, FAEMS, NAEMSP® president. “EMS Week perfectly aligns with our mission and allows us to not only honor the important work of our members, but also educate on current best practices and trends in the industry.”

NAEMSP® is comprised of physicians and EMS professionals dedicated to providing leadership and fostering excellence in the subspecialty of EMS medicine and out-of-hospital care. NAEMSP® also serves as a leading healthcare advocate, most recently serving a major leadership role in the passage of the Protecting Patient Access to Emergency Medications Act.

EMS Week is organized by The American College of Emergency Physicians and the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians.
